Biography
Mercy Nkhoma is a passionate Malawian and community advocate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Growing up in both rural and urban settings, she developed a deep appreciation for the resilience, strength, and untapped potential of rural communities. These formative experiences ignited her passion for creating opportunities that uplift and empower people from within.
Mercy has experience mentoring young girls through the KUUWA Project with Plan Malawi, where she guided them on education, confidence-building, and essential life skills, encouraging them to believe in their futures and set meaningful goals. She also worked as a Loan Officer, where she strengthened her skills in financial management, communication, and problem-solving.
Her passion for community development grew further through the opportunity to work alongside a CorpsAfrica Volunteer in Kakwale, Kasungu, where she actively participated in community-driven initiatives supported by the Volunteer. Witnessing firsthand how a dedicated, locally rooted approach to service could inspire real and lasting change in people’s lives left a profound impression on her and planted the seed that grew into her own desire to serve as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer.
Passionate about youth empowerment, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and community-led development, Mercy is thrilled to join CorpsAfrica Cohort 10. She looks forward to listening to and learning from her host community, building meaningful and lasting relationships, and collaborating with local people to design and implement sustainable solutions that create a real impact.
