Biography

Destiny Botha is a driven and community-focused graduate with a First-Class Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Governance from Mzuzu University. His academic journey combined rigorous policy analysis with hands-on civic engagement. He led the co-founding team of the Mzuzu University Political Science Students Association (MUPOSSA), bringing together over 400 students across four academic programmes. He later served as Vice President of the Students for Liberty Mzuzu University Chapter. Through these roles, he learned to build consensus among diverse groups, mentor fellow students, and organise civic education activities centred on governance, democracy, and individual rights.

Destiny has professional experience as a Junior Policy Analyst at the Planetarium Institute, a Youth Advisor with Plan International Malawi, and a Volunteer Intern with Bigger Voices for Change. These roles equipped him with practical skills in stakeholder consultation, policy analysis aligned with Malawi Vision 2063 and the Global Goals, community focus group coordination, and evidence-based report writing. They also strengthened his ability to translate policy into meaningful outcomes for communities. He is an alumnus of the Aspire Leaders Program offered by Aspire Institute, where he further developed his leadership and ethical decision-making skills alongside a global network of emerging young changemakers. His grounded and attentive nature helps him build genuine trust with the people he works alongside.

Driven by his commitment to inclusive, community-led development, Destiny joined CorpsAfrica as a Volunteer. He looks forward to supporting civic education efforts that help community members better understand their socioeconomic rights, extending beyond awareness of civil and political rights. He is also eager to use his skills and experience to collaborate with local communities to address their unique challenges and implement sustainable solutions that foster growth and create opportunities.
