A development expert with strong knowledge of the West Africa sub-region, Khaita Sylla has +16 years of experience managing grants and partnerships in the international NGO sector. She was schooled in Senegal and the United States and is a Corporate Communications and Project Management specialist and a certified English/French translator. Khaita has extensive experience working with civil society organizations (CSOs). She is the founder of the “Village Farm & Bakery,” a private company that seeks to make fresh vegetables, eggs, and bread accessible to the communities in her native village, as well as provide jobs for women and youth. She is also the Co-Founder of “Women Partnership for Impact in Africa (WPIA),” a consulting firm and Association seeking to eliminate the binary relationships between funders and beneficiaries with a view to building an approach based on collaboration, mutual respect, and partnerships. Khaita is a feminist and a women’s rights and social justice activist. She is a member of the Network of Senegalese Feminists and the Board of Directors of Dafadoy, an association working to end violence against women and girls with a special focus on rape. As a champion for Kitaamba, a social enterprise whose main mission is to make washable sanitary pads accessible to women and girls, Khaita helps raise awareness around menstrual hygiene.

Khaita has authored many articles about political and social issues affecting Africa and is published internationally. You can read some of her writings in the following links:
