MOROCCO (FRench)
CorpsAfrica/Maroc was established as the inaugural CorpsAfrica program in 2013 with funding from OCP Foundation. Seven Volunteers completed their service during the first year, serving in different parts of Morocco including Essaouira, Tahanout, Safi and El Jadida. Today, CorpsAfrica/Maroc hosts over 30 Volunteers per cohort who serve in three districts. With diverse languages including Moroccan Arabic, “Darija,” and multiple Amazigh languages, Volunteers learn the local dialects in order to participate in daily activities and gain the community member’s trust. CorpsAfrica/Maroc has also sent the most exchange Volunteers overseas to complete a second year of service in other CorpsAfrica countries.
