Biography
Malamine Badiane is a dedicated climate activist and youth advocate who spent over three years leading transformative community projects across Senegal. In his current role as the Special Initiatives Coordinator and an active member of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the UNFCCC, Malamine focuses on climate-smart agriculture, sustainable energy, and empowerment for women and youth. His impactful leadership earned him recognition as an EVWA ChangeMaker by the Ban Ki-moon Centre, ranking him among Africa’s top 20 leaders under 30. A seasoned representative on the global stage, he has championed youth leadership and climate policy at major international events, including COP28, the World Bank Youth Summit, and the World Forest Congress.
His professional expertise is deeply rooted in his grassroots service as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer. During his initial service in Senegal, he worked alongside his community to renovate a primary school and construct a mini-borehole. As an Exchange Volunteer in Kenya, Malamine address the climate crisis through a multifaceted green project that included sustainable land management training, the construction of a check dam, and the establishment of a tree nursery. With a background in linguistics and digital communication, Malamine remains driven by the philosophy that true greatness is found in service, a belief he continues to demonstrate through his commitment to sustainable environmental and social change.
