Biography

Hawabu Abdul Karim is a young Ghanaian with a passion for learning, community development, and creating positive change. She holds a Diploma in Food Science and Technology from the University for Development Studies (UDS), where she gained knowledge and practical skills in food processing, food safety, quality control, and food analysis.

Hawabu’s professional journey has exposed her to different working environments and strengthened her interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. She has previously worked as a salesgirl, an experience that taught her the importance of customer service, responsibility, patience, and effective communication. She also worked with Zipline Ghana as a Fulfillment Support, where she gained valuable experience in teamwork, coordination, accuracy, and working effectively under pressure.

Beyond her academic and professional experiences, Hawabu is passionate about working with people and contributing to the development of communities. She is particularly interested in learning from communities, understanding their needs, and supporting locally driven solutions.

Her decision to serve as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer is inspired by her desire to step outside her comfort zone, grow as a leader, and use her skills and experiences to contribute meaningfully to community development. She looks forward to learning, serving, and making a positive impact during her volunteer journey.
