Biography
Joseph Acquaye is a Development Studies graduate from Valley View University, Ghana, with professional experience spanning education, government, hospitality, research, community engagement, and entrepreneurship.
Before joining CorpsAfrica, he served as a teacher with Lead For Ghana at College of Music Senior High School in Gomoa Eshiem, where he taught 120 students across four classrooms. He delivered lessons, tracked student progress, supported extracurricular activities, and worked with colleagues and school counselors to support students.
Joseph also has experience in hospitality and front-office operations, having worked as a Receptionist at Olma Colonial Suite in Osu, where he handled guest communication, records, appointments, and day-to-day administrative duties. His earlier experience with the State Protocol Department further strengthened his skills in administration, event coordination, logistics, communication, and working with diverse stakeholders.
Beyond his professional work, Joseph has developed an interest in entrepreneurship through a local transport business. He invested in motorbikes to create a source of income and support his personal and professional development. This experience has strengthened his understanding of small-business management, responsibility, and the importance of creating local economic opportunities.
His interest in community development is also shaped by his academic research, including a study on the relationship between illegal mining and food security in Twifo Atti-Morkwa District in Ghana’s Central Region.
Joseph joined CorpsAfrica because he wants to better understand communities by listening to their experiences, identifying priorities together, and supporting locally driven solutions. As he serves in a rural community in Central Ghana, he hopes to learn from community members, contribute meaningfully, and strengthen his commitment to inclusive and sustainable community development.
