Biography
Abiy Afework’s journey is one of passion and purpose. Born in 2000 in Asella, he owes a great deal of his success to his mother, Azeb Mulugeta, whose strength and support have been a constant source of inspiration.
Abiy’s educational path took him from Engda School, where he spent most of his childhood, to Rohoboth School and Asella Preparatory School. These early years laid the foundation for his academic and personal growth. He went on to pursue his love of science and health at Arsi University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy in June 2024. Throughout his university years, Abiy was driven to make a difference. He was actively involved with the Ethiopian Medical Association and participated in blood donation campaigns, which deepened his commitment to serving others. After graduating, he spent four months providing free services to those in need, an experience that only strengthened his resolve to give back. In addition to his medical pursuits, Abiy developed his skills as a graphic designer through an online course. This creative outlet allows him to express his ideas visually and contribute to projects that align with his values.
Today, Abiy is proud to be part of CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia as a Volunteer, an organization that shares his values and passion for creating positive change. With his strong foundation in medical science, his bachelor’s degree, graphic design skills, and desire to make a meaningful impact, he’s excited to see where his journey takes him next.
