Biography

Anita Akinyi is a Human-Centered Design and program leadership professional with over 10 years of experience in the development sector, specializing in designing inclusive, community-driven solutions. Her work sits at the intersection of human-centered design, skilling, youth empowerment, and systems strengthening.

She has led the design and implementation of large-scale skilling and empowerment programs across Kenya, working closely with government agencies, NGOs, private sector partners, and communities to co-create practical, sustainable solutions. Anita is particularly passionate about translating user insights into actionable program strategies that respond to real needs while strengthening systems for long-term impact.

Anita is recognized for her ability to facilitate participatory processes, build strong partnerships, and lead teams in delivering high-quality, impactful programs. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Sociology and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Strategic Management.
