Biography

Margaret Akotiah is a Ghanaian midwife with a strong passion for serving women, children, and vulnerable people in her community. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery from the University for Development Studies and has gained experience working in both clinical and community settings.

Margaret’s passion for community service began early. As a student mentor with CAMA, she supported young people through mentorship and career guidance and was motivated to establish an initiative that provided sanitary pads to about 100 girls. This experience strengthened her belief that small acts of service can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

As a midwife, Margaret has provided antenatal, postnatal, family planning, labour and delivery, child welfare, and community outreach services. She has also volunteered in a community nutrition programme, where she taught caregivers how to prepare nutritious meals for children using locally available foods.

Margaret joined CorpsAfrica because she wants to learn from communities, contribute her skills, and be part of practical solutions to challenges affecting people’s everyday lives. She hopes her service will help her grow while creating positive and lasting change in her community.
