Biography

Hamdia Alhassan is a Ghanaian public health graduate from the University for Development Studies, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a focus on Disease Control. Growing up, Hamdia learned responsibility early. When circumstances placed greater responsibilities on her family, she became focused on becoming independent and supporting those around her. She learned to make choices based on what was practical rather than always what she loved. That experience shaped a quiet hope in her: to help create a world where another girl can have the freedom to dream, explore her talents, and choose a path not simply because it will help her survive, but because it gives her life meaning.

At Tamale Central Health Centre, she worked closely with mothers and children, supported immunization activities, and provided health education. Seeing people accept what she taught them and begin to apply it brought her genuine joy. Through Lavish Aid Foundation’s Feed the Street initiative, she also saw how service could give people moments of happiness, dignity, and belonging. She served as a Team Lead with Triple A Foundation, coordinating team members and helping turn ideas into action.

Hamdia discovered CorpsAfrica through Volunteers on LinkedIn. Their stories made her want to step beyond the familiar, meet people, learn from communities, and discover what she was capable of. She joined CorpsAfrica to challenge herself, grow in confidence, leadership, and public speaking, and see her better become her best.

Above all, she hopes to be a reason why someone smiles.
