Biography

Nancy Aime Ashimwe is a Rwandan communications and community development professional currently serving as Communications Associate and Intercultural Coordinator at CorpsAfrica Rwanda. She previously served as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer in Rwanda in the fifth cohort, demonstrating strong commitment to community led development, youth empowerment and cultural exchange.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honors in Finance from University Lay Adventist of Kigali. During her university years she served as Cultural Youth Leader at UNILAK and gained experience as Sales Manager at Soditraco Ltd.
Her professional development includes certifications in Youth to Business from AIESEC Thrive@Work Programme by African Management Institute and training in Disaster Management First Aid Personal Safety and Security Asset Based Community Development and Human Centered Design through CorpsAfrica Rwanda.

During her volunteer service Nancy worked with rural communities to implement chili farming and piggery husbandry projects improving livelihoods and economic resilience. She also led initiatives including nutrition education for mothers, back to school campaigns and coaching students in ICT, English and mathematics.
Nancy founded initiatives such as Ubutwari Initiative improving life in Rwanzu Village, Orora Munyarwanzu Initiative promoting savings and income growth and Ihaze Munyarwanzu Initiative supporting sustainable agriculture and nutrition. She also established CorpsAfrica Rwandan Culture Club in Rulindo as a professional traditional dancer and founder of Indejuru Culture Troupe in Nyanza District.

She believes in community led change and is passionate about sharing knowledge and skills for sustainable solutions. She continues to engage in cultural promotion and youth leadership across Rwanda initiatives and development.
