Biography
Gebremichael Gebretsadkan Berhe is a CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia Volunteer whose journey of service is deeply connected to his roots in Egela Woreda, Central Zone of Tigray. His commitment to community began through his connection with the Egela Development Association, where he contributed to local empowerment and sustainable growth. From his early schooling through university, Gebremichael maintained a strong commitment to learning, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mekelle Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Ethio-Lens College.
His journey has also been shaped by community service, leadership, and practical experience. For over three years, he served with the Araya Women and Children Charitable Organization, contributing to social support and community well-being. As Conflict Communication Head for the MIT Peace Forum, he facilitated dialogue, collaboration, and peace-building initiatives. He also gained hands-on technical experience through an engineering internship at the Ashegoda Wind Farm.
His interest in working with people grew further through his experience as an educator at Tinsae Academy, where he had the opportunity to mentor and inspire others. This experience strengthened his belief in the importance of understanding people and building meaningful connections.
As a CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia Volunteer, Gebremichael brings together his technical knowledge, community experience, and passion for Human-Centered Design. He is committed to listening to local wisdom, learning alongside his host community, and using his skills to support locally driven solutions and lasting change.
