Biography
Ribka Bizuayehu was born in Oromia Region’s Bale Zone, in the resource-rich and culturally vibrant Ginnir area near the Ethiopia–Somalia border. The region is home to remarkable natural treasures, including Bale Mountains and Dinsho National Park, which shelter unique wildlife such as the Ethiopian wolf, mountain nyala, and Bale monkey.
She began her education at Polymass Academy, where the foundations of her character, curiosity, discipline, and compassion, were formed. After Grade 4, her family relocated to Robe, where she continued her primary education at Zeybel Primary School and completed secondary and preparatory studies at Robe Preparatory School.
Upon excelling in the national examinations, she gained admission to Hawassa University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Concurrently, she was awarded a scholarship to study Clinical Pharmacy at Pharma Medical School, culminating in dual degrees in 2024. She later began a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, which she is expected to complete in December 2025.
During her studies, she completed internships at Hawassa University and Tirunesh Beijing General Hospital in Addis Ababa, where she gained practical experience in patient care, diagnostics, and collaborative problem-solving, skills she now applies to promote sustainable, community-driven health and development initiatives.
Her commitment to service extends beyond academia. She has actively volunteered for one year in mentorship initiatives and women’s empowerment projects in collaboration with GIZ, as well as other community-led development programs.
Following six weeks of intensive Pre-Service Training (PST), she joined CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia as a Group 3 Volunteer, bringing her interdisciplinary background, dedication, and community-oriented spirit to advance sustainable development through education, health, and empowerment.
