Birgen Brimine, from Kericho, Kenya, is a dedicated development and research professional with a BA in International Relations and Diplomacy from Maseno University. He has practical experience in humanitarian response, climate action, and social protection programs, collaborating on both donor-funded and grassroots initiatives to strengthen community livelihoods and resilience.
Birgen is a passionate advocate for the United Nations SDGs 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, and 17. He has dedicated his career to helping communities unlock their own potential and shape solutions that truly reflect their needs and aspirations. Now serving as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, Birgen works hand in hand with local communities to design and implement initiatives that foster resilience, strengthen livelihoods, and inspire lasting change. Guided by the principle that true development is done with communities, not for them, he applies ABCD, CLD, and HCD approaches to co-create sustainable and transformative change.
His mission is to foster inclusive development that leverages local strengths, promotes self-reliance, and builds resilient communities across Kenya and beyond. He believes real transformation happens when communities are not passive recipients but active architects of their own future. Driven by this vision, Birgen is committed to championing locally-led, evidence-based solutions that leave no one behind and pave the way for a more sustainable and equitable future.
