Biography
Alfred Bukari Ibrahim is a seasoned Rural and Agricultural Financing Expert with over 10 years of experience in agricultural value chain development and financing, agribusiness, SME development, project management, financial analysis, risk management, strategic planning, and donor-funded programmes. He has extensive expertise in designing and managing innovative financial solutions that improve access to finance for smallholder farmers, agribusinesses, and rural enterprises.
He served as Agribusiness Coordinator at Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans Limited, where he managed agricultural loan portfolios across Northern Ghana. He successfully managed a US$3.775 million USAID Development Credit Authority (DCA) guarantee fund and a US$5 million DANIDA Agricultural Value Chain Revolving Refinancing and Guarantee Fund.
He has facilitated strategic partnerships with IFAD-NRGP, USAID, John Deere Financial, USAID-FinGAP, AFGRI Ghana, and VOTO Mobile Ghana, facilitating over US$2 million in agricultural financing and supporting tractor financing, tailor-made agricultural loan products, and financial inclusion initiatives.
He has reached over 10,000 smallholder farmers with financial services, trained more than 5,000 farmers in improved agronomic practices, and supported over 3,000 female rice and maize farmers with financial services and business development training.
His broader experience covers agribusiness operations, procurement, compliance, staff development, farmer training, agricultural production, marketing, and operational strategy.
He holds a Diploma in Integrated Community Development Studies from the University for Development Studies (UDS) and a Teachers’ Certificate ‘A’ from Tamale Teachers Training College. He is passionate about leveraging finance, partnerships, and innovative value-chain solutions to advance inclusive and sustainable rural development.
