Biography
Refiloe Butshingi, 25, is a passionate community development practitioner from Lady Grey, Eastern Cape. A graduate of the University of Johannesburg with a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development and Leadership, she is driven by a belief that communities hold the power to transform their own futures.
She previously served as a Community Development Facilitator at Advancing Children for Success, where she launched a drug-abuse prevention programme, led school outreaches on adolescent health, and created support networks for teenage mothers. She also worked as an Educator Assistant at Dr Pallo Jordan Public School, supporting teachers and learners.
Now volunteering with CorpsAfrica (Cohort 2) in South Africa, Refiloe focuses on empowering rural communities through participation and local leadership. Guided by compassion and social justice, she hopes to build a more equitable society where every person can thrive.
