Biography
Aissatou Dieng is a community development and public policy professional with expertise in spatial planning, project management, and monitoring and evaluation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Territorial Governance and Local Development and a Master’s degree in Territorial Governance and Public Policy from Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) in Dakar.
With a strong foundation in field-based development, Aissatou has led and contributed to initiatives in territorial planning, participatory governance, and local development across Senegal. She has notably contributed to the design of Communal Development Plans in several local authorities, particularly in the Kaffrine region. Her experience also includes land restructuring initiatives with the municipality of Keur Moussa, as well as urban planning and environmental management programs within the Directorate General of Living Environment and Public Hygiene.
She has further been involved in a range of projects and studies conducted with local organizations and institutions, focusing on territorial governance, citizen participation, and sustainable development, and has supported multi-stakeholder and research-driven initiatives in these areas.
Driven by a strong commitment to inclusive and community-led development, Aissatou joined CorpsAfrica/Senegal as a Volunteer, where she designed and implemented a millet mill project benefiting over 500 people, while strengthening women’s economic empowerment through capacity building for 54 women entrepreneurs. She also advanced environmental action and fostered youth civic engagement at the grassroots level.
In a Pan-African spirit, she continued her engagement in Ghana as an Exchange Volunteer with CorpsAfrica, where she implemented a maternal health initiative reaching nearly 1,900 beneficiaries and trained 120 women in income-generating activities, contributing to improved livelihoods and community resilience.
Currently, Aissatou serves as Assistant to the Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer at CorpsAfrica/Senegal. In this role, she supports strategic partnerships development, resource mobilization, and the scaling of high-impact, community-driven initiatives. She is deeply committed to advancing sustainable, locally led solutions at both national and international levels.
