Biography

Rediet Gashaw was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She earned her medical degree from the University of Gondar, where her studies were interrupted twice first by the COVID-19 pandemic and later by the northern conflict, but she persevered and completed her studies. She went on to gain one year of hands-on clinical experience as a medical intern at the University of Gondar Comprehensive Specialized Hospital. A committed public health enthusiast, Rediet has seen firsthand the challenges many communities face in accessing basic necessities such as clean water, healthcare, and electricity. These experiences deepened her resolve to work beyond the hospital setting and contribute to sustainable, community-driven change. Now serving as a CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia Group 3 Volunteer, she is eager to apply her skills, knowledge, and dedication to support local initiatives that improve lives and strengthen resilience.
