Biography
Musfiratu Pag’kpema Haruna is a vibrant young woman from Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana. She holds a BSc in Agricultural Biotechnology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She is an alumna of the Ashesi Innovation Experience and the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (MCF) at KNUST. She also served as a Teaching and Research Assistant in the Department of Crop and Soil Science at KNUST, where she additionally worked as a Biotech Lab Assistant.
She has volunteered with several organizations, including Camfed Ghana as a Peer Educator, a Learner Guide Facilitator, and a Peer Mentor at the MCF-KNUST Counselling Unit. She is committed to advancing sustainable agriculture and food security through innovative research, biotechnology, and leadership.
Guided by curiosity, resilience, and a passion for science, she strives to develop solutions that enhance agricultural productivity, conserve genetic resources, and promote environmental sustainability. She aims to leverage her academic training, laboratory expertise, research, and leadership experiences to empower communities, inspire young people, and influence agricultural practices that improve health and societal well-being.
Her mission is to continuously grow in knowledge and character while creating meaningful impact in the agricultural sector and society at large.
