Biography
Ishimwe Ernestine was born in Musha Sector, Gisagara District. She completed her primary education in her home community before moving to Nyanza District for her secondary studies. She pursued her higher education at The Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR), where she studied Rural Development, a field that aligns with her passion for community empowerment and sustainable growth.
Ernestine has been working with an NGO called Tube Heza, which operated in Gisagara District with the mission of transforming people’s lives by encouraging them to make use of the available resources around their homes. Through this work, she offered valuable initiatives in promoting self-reliance and supporting rural families to improve their well-being.
She is an energetic and social person who enjoys being with others, particularly youth and elderly persons with whom she engages in various community initiatives.
She is currently serving as a Volunteer at CorpsAfrica, where she continues to expand her skills in rural development while spending her time and energy to support community-based projects.
Ernestine is passionate about sports, especially volleyball. During her school years, she not only played the game with enthusiasm but also inspired and led other young girls, starting from her school and extending to her community, to practice volleyball as a way of building teamwork, discipline, and confidence.
Ernestine has a deep passion for farming, which she considers not only a means of livelihood but also a foundation for sustainable development. Her vision is to combine her academic knowledge, her passion for agriculture, and her community work to inspire families to embrace innovation and build a better future.
She firmly believes that with determination and creativity, every person can unlock their potential and contribute to the transformation of society
