Biography

Bintou Jarjou is a CorpsAfrica Volunteer with a background in agriculture, research and community development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science from the University of The Gambia (UTG) and certifications in Information Technology from Interlink Global College.

Driven by passion to improve food security, nutrition and public health, Bintou pursued agriculture as a pathway to sustainable and nutrition sensitive interventions. During her undergraduate studies, she developed a strong interest in post-harvest technology and food systems, culminating in her final year research on pre and post-harvest losses of tomatoes.

She has gained hands-on experience at the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) and with United Purpose/Self Help Africa under the Climate Resilience Program, where she built skills in climate- smart agriculture, crop trials and seed management. Bintou has also contributed to value-chain and socioeconomic surveys in The Gambia. Fluent in English and three local languages, Bintou is committed to community-led developments, youth empowerment and sustainable impact.
