Biography
Fatoumata Jarju is a CorpsAfrica Volunteer with The Gambia G3 Cohort (2025–2026), committed to advancing education, youth development, and community-led engagement. She brings a strong blend of academic training, professional experience, and creative skill to her service.
She completed her studies at the Rural Development Institute (RDI), where she developed a solid foundation in rural livelihoods, sustainable development, and participatory community approaches. Her academic training equipped her with practical competencies in project planning, capacity building, teamwork, and community empowerment, skills that continue to inform her professional and Volunteer work.
Fatoumata has over two years of professional experience with ZApp Super App, where she contributed effectively within a dynamic team environment while building strong organizational and workplace skills.
Beyond her development background, she is a versatile creative with experience as a makeup artist among others. She leverages visual storytelling as a tool for education, advocacy, and social impact, enabling her to communicate ideas clearly and engage diverse audiences.
Her interests span community development, environmental sustainability, education, youth empowerment, and sports. She values collaborative approaches that recognize local assets and promote sustainable, community-driven solutions. An avid reader and writer, she continuously sharpens her communication skills, while her passion for football and film reflects her appreciation for teamwork, discipline, and creativity.
