Biography
Mervis Kachepa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Gender and Development from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). She enjoys reading and writing. Prior to joining Corps Africa Malawi, she gained valuable experience in leadership through various roles, including serving as Branch Overseer for Captured in Glory Ministries at LUANAR. This position helped cultivate her resilience, team-building capabilities, and sense of accountability.
Mervis also contributed meaningfully as a Gender and Women’s Rights Officer Intern at the Malawi Human Rights Commission, where she developed a strong foundation in integrity and ethical conduct.
Joining CorpsAfrica represents an exciting opportunity for Mervis to further her commitment to community empowerment. Having witnessed numerous failed community projects, such as disused boreholes and abandoned buildings awaiting repair, she is motivated by CorpsAfrica’s focus on community-led development which brings sustainable impact.
Through her service, Mervis aims to grow her skills in public speaking, teamwork, community facilitation, initiative, and problem-solving. She is eager to contribute wholeheartedly to positive change and views this journey with utmost dedication and enthusiasm.
