Biography

Given Kafotokoza is a dedicated and hardworking graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). His academic journey combined plant science, soil management, and sustainable agriculture with a strong focus on community development through agriculture. This experience deepened his passion for using agriculture and data-driven solutions to improve livelihoods and promote sustainable practices in rural communities.

Given has professional experience as a Research and Data Assistant and Data Transcriber with the UNC Project, where he contributed to helping communities understand more about HIV and ways to prevent it while ensuring accurate transcription and management of research data. He also worked as an Enumerator with LUANAR and the National Statistical Office, as well as a Data Entry Clerk with Premium Tobacco Malawi Limited. Across these roles, he developed strong skills in data collection, analysis, transcription, and reporting, while engaging with communities to ensure accuracy, collaboration, and meaningful impact.

Beyond his professional and academic background, Given enjoys reading personal-growth novels and cooking, interests that reflect his commitment to personal development and creativity. Motivated by his dedication to community transformation, he joined CorpsAfrica as a Volunteer in Cohort 9. He looks forward to applying his skills in agriculture and data management to support communities in designing and implementing sustainable solutions, while also learning from the unique strengths and experiences of the people he serves.
