Biography

Lavin Onyango holds a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from Kenyatta University, along with a Virtual Assistant Certification and an AI Career Essentials Certification from ALX Africa, and a Data Analysis Certification from Ajira Digital Kenya; she is currently furthering her skills through a Data Science course. Building on this foundation, she has grown into a Virtual Executive Assistant and Data Analyst with over two years of experience supporting C-suite executives in remote, deadline-heavy environments. Through her roles at Balcurt Limited, Curtisea Society of Kenya, and Ajira Digital Kenya, she has developed strong skills in stakeholder communication, data collection and analysis, systems thinking, CRM administration, and translating complex information into clear, actionable insights, skills that carry over well into community needs assessment, monitoring and evaluation, and program coordination in the development space.

Beyond her professional work, Lavin is deeply passionate about community development and youth empowerment. She believes that lasting change happens when communities are trusted to identify their own priorities and lead their own solutions, and that young people carry valuable ideas, energy, and perspective when given the space to participate and lead. Lavin hopes to bring her organizational, analytical, and communication skills into the NGO space, working closely with communities to understand their needs, support locally-driven initiatives, and help build environments where young people can strengthen their confidence, sharpen their skills, and take an active role in shaping the future of their communities.
