Biography
Staina Lukumba is a dedicated community development practitioner passionate about creating sustainable change through grassroots engagement. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Transformative Community Development in Mzuzu University, where she developed a strong foundation in participatory approaches, leadership, and social impact.
Her commitment to service and empowerment is reflected in her diverse experiences. She began her journey as a Peer Educator with Apause Malawi, where she worked with young people to promote health education and positive behavior change. She later served as a communication officer with the Malawi Scotland Partnership, where she was responsible for managing the organization’s social media platforms, amplifying stories from communities, and strengthen connections between Malawi and Scotland.
Most recently, Staina Volunteered with CorpsAfrica/Malawi as a Community Led Development Facilitator, where she worked with rural communities to design and implement sustainable projects, empowering local people to take ownership of their development. This experience deepened her skills in community mobilization, facilitation, and grassroot leadership.
Staina is driven by a vision of resilient communities empowered to lead their own development. Her combined academic background, professional experience, and volunteer work reflect her dedication to fostering sustainable growth, youth empowerment and effective communication for social change.
