Biography

Mabrukatu Umar is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Education in Social Science from the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana. She is passionate about community development, women’s empowerment, and supporting marginalized groups. Growing up in a rural community nurtured her interest in education and social change, inspiring her active involvement in volunteer work and community sensitization programs.

Throughout her academic journey, Mabrukatu gained valuable experience in research, teamwork, and leadership, which has strengthened her ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. She is particularly committed to addressing socio-cultural barriers that hinder women’s participation in leadership and decision-making.

Beyond academics, Mabrukatu enjoys advocating for women’s empowerment, mentoring young people—especially in the area of leadership—and exploring innovative ideas that foster positive social change. She has served as an intern teacher at Damongo Senior High School and volunteered as an Assistant Project Lead with Tiyumba Hope Foundation.

Mabrukatu aspires to continue leveraging her skills and passion to facilitate community development and create lasting impact, particularly through CorpsAfrica initiatives.
