Biography

She is a Media for Development graduate from the University of Malawi with a strong passion for community development, youth empowerment, participatory communication, and using media to create positive social change.

She initially pursued Media for Development with the ambition of becoming a radio or television presenter, inspired by female journalists and her desire to be a voice for the people. However, through courses such as Participatory Rural Communication Appraisal (PRCA), Theatre for Development (TfD), and Ethnography, she developed a deeper understanding of the importance of working with communities rather than simply speaking for them.

Her passion for community empowerment has been strengthened through her experiences as a Volunteer Mentor with Little Big Prints, Communication Intern with the University of Malawi’s Directorate of Students Affairs, Secretary to the Dean of Students at Domasi College of Education, and radio presenter and drama producer at St Luke’s College Campus Radio. These experiences have strengthened her skills in communication, mentoring, community engagement, and participatory media.

She is particularly interested in youth empowerment, storytelling, community engagement, and sustainable development. Outside her professional interests, she enjoys writing poems and interacting with people.

She is excited to be part of the CorpsAfrica cohort 10 because it offers her an opportunity to apply her skills in real communities, learn from others, and contribute to sustainable solutions that empower communities to take ownership of their development.
