Biography

Wakeshi Tolera Merdassa is a Computer Science and Engineering graduate from Adama Science and Technology University who is all about big energy, fresh ideas, and jumping right into new experiences. She has always cared deeply about giving back and lifting the people around her, especially young girls, showing them that there is no reason to ever settle for a quiet, predictable path. That hands‑on drive ran through everything she did at ASTU, from stepping up as General Secretary of the Student Union and Vice President of Student Safety to jumping into local youth and human rights groups.

She packs a lively mix of tech skills, project organization, executive office work, and creative visual design, bringing a lot of heart and zero fear to every project she touches. Fluent in Afaan Oromo, Amharic, and English, making friends and telling real stories comes naturally to her.

Heading into her CorpsAfrica service with a wildly adventurous spirit and endless curiosity, Wakeshi strictly lives by one idea: if you never step out of your bubble, you will never know where your limits are or what you are truly capable of doing. She is ready to dive straight into the community, embrace all the unexpected fun along the way, and build real change, because honestly, who knows what tomorrow brings?
