Biography

John Mpakani Kisewe is a development communication, social worker and youth development practitioner with experience in participatory development communication, digital media storytelling, youth and social work development. He has worked with organizations such as Point of Progress, Farm Radio Trust and volunteered with organizations such as Maphunziro265, Youth Wave Malawi, where he developed strategies that strengthened donor engagement, produced bilingual podcasts and designed youth-centered and agricultural radio programs. He has worked as a consultant for organizations such as Girl Effect Malawi and GIZ Malawi.
John’s expertise spans podcasting, radio broadcasting, photography, videography and bilingual communication (English and Chichewa), enabling him to adapt content for both donor audiences and rural communities. He launched Malawi’s first agribusiness podcast (Malawi AgriBiz Podcast), designed and produced GIZ Malawi’s Over2You podcast, blending technical knowledge with creative storytelling to reach diverse audiences.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Youth Development from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). John is passionate about amplifying grassroots voices, empowering youth and using participatory media as a tool for advocacy and sustainable development.
