Biography
Saphina Musabyimana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Rwanda, College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences, Food Science, and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM). She also attended training on Circular Agro-Economy, which focused on achieving zero waste in the environment through upcycling, recycling, and reuse practices.
Following her studies, Saphina participated in the Hanga Akazi program and later volunteered in Nyabihu District, Kabatwa Sector, through USAID Hanga Akazi. In this role, she supported farmers in improving the quality of Irish potato seeds and adopting proper agricultural methods to increase productivity while conserving the environment.
Her journey later led her to Pre-Service Training (PST) with CorpsAfrica, where she embraced the opportunity to become a CorpsAfrica Volunteer. She is currently serving in Huye District, Gishamvu Sector, Nyumba Cell, and Nyagatama Village. Together with community members, she works to reduce poverty and improve well-being through sustainable development.
Saphina has always been passionate about empowering women, youth, and young mothers to become self-reliant and drivers of change. Through CorpsAfrica, she has seen this dream come true by collaborating with the Gishamvu community, sharing cultures and values, and learning traditional stories from elders. She values this experience as an inspiring and transformative moment in her personal and professional journey.
