Biography

Mutozimana Synthique is a Software Engineer who recently completed her degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering, A0) from INES-Ruhengeri, where she developed a passion for using technology and community engagement to drive social change.
Her journey in the tech field began at Runda TVET School, where she studied Computer Science (Software Development, A2) between 2017 and 2019. She also designed a community-oriented Blood Donation Platform that connects donors to nearby donation centers, demonstrating her commitment to using innovation to solve real-world problems.

Synthique has consistently combined her technical expertise with service. She interned at Camp TechKobwa in 2014, mentoring girls in technology and self-confidence. In 2015, she participated in Camp GROW at Mpanda VTC, where she trained in leadership and job creation. That same year, she became a student leader at the ANTI-AIDS club, educating youth on HIV prevention and stigma reduction.

Her volunteerism continued as Secretary at Ingobyi in 2020, where she improved health services for mothers, babies, and malaria patients. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as a volunteer secretary in the Bweramana Sector, ensuring communities accessed accurate health information and essential supplies.

As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, Synthique successfully led several impactful community projects. In her first year of service, she worked with 70 youth to establish a passion fruit farming project that created jobs, provided food security, and generated sustainable income for families. She also supported savings groups, tree nursery development, kitchen gardens, and a livestock initiative. Additionally, through the Graduation Program, she helped distribute pigs and goats to vulnerable adults, supporting their journey out of poverty.

Her commitment to Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) and Human-Centered Design (HCD) has allowed her to work closely with communities, ensuring sustainability and ownership of projects. Beyond her service, she continues to develop herself through sports like karate, where she recently achieved a new rank, reflecting her discipline and resilience.

Synthique is passionate about blending her software engineering background with grassroots development, aiming to create long-term impact in the communities she serves.
