Biography
Mercy Mutua believes that lasting change begins when people are empowered to recognize their own potential and allowed to turn it into action. She is a Criminology and Information Technology graduate from Maseno University with a strong passion for community development, youth empowerment, and social change. Her academic background has shaped her understanding of social issues and strengthened her desire to work with communities to create practical solutions to the challenges they face. Mercy is particularly passionate about supporting young women, young mothers, and youth in accessing opportunities, building sustainable livelihoods, and becoming active drivers of change in their communities. As a CorpsAfrica/Kenya Volunteer, she is committed to listening to communities, learning from their experiences, and working alongside them to develop solutions that can thrive beyond her service. She hopes to leave behind more than completed projects—she hopes to leave behind people who believe in their ability to create opportunities for themselves and others.
