Biography

Rosine Mvunabandi was born and raised in Rwanda, where her passion for community development, agriculture, service, and rural transformation began to take shape at an early age. She is currently a Year 4 Horticulture student at the University of Rwanda, College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (UR-CAVM), specializing in sustainable farming and nutrition-focused agricultural practices.

Rosine has dedicated herself to initiatives that improve livelihoods and health within her community. Her research focuses on enhancing the nutritional value of vegetables, with projects such as “Enhancing School Feeding Nutritional Diet through Vegetable Cultivation in Rwanda” and her undergraduate study “Assessing the Mineral and Protein Content of Amaranthus under the Application of Ash and Manure.” These efforts reflect her commitment to tackling malnutrition and food insecurity while promoting innovative solutions for rural well-being.

Beyond academics, Rosine is actively involved in leadership and community service. She is a proud member of the Health Promotion Club, working to improve the well-being of children under five and the wider population. Her journey is inspired by a deep belief in service, teamwork, and resilience. Rosine is motivated by the vision of empowering rural communities, promoting youth and women’s involvement in development, and using research and innovation to create lasting impact. She is very excited to be serving in Huye, an opportunity that is giving her new experiences as she engages with people from diverse backgrounds who bring different expertise and perspectives.
