Biography

Anka Christella Nikuze is a development professional with a strong background in rural and urban development, land administration, and community-based programming. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Rural and Urban Development from the Institut Catholique de Kabgayi (2022) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Development Studies.

She has gained practical experience through her work with Musanze District One Stop Centre, the Rwanda Land Management and Use Authority, and New Builders Ltd, where she contributed to initiatives such as the Rwanda Urban Development Project (RUDP) Phase 3 and supported land use planning through geospatial data collection and analysis. Her technical competencies include the use of WebGIS, ArcMap, and DGPS technologies, supported by training in digital skills and problem-solving.

Through her service as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer in Huye District, Anka led and facilitated impactful community-driven initiatives, including a piggery farming project, nutrition-focused kitchen gardens, and community savings groups. Applying Human-Centered Design and Asset-Based Community Development approaches, she has strengthened local capacities, promoted self-reliance, and supported sustainable livelihoods.

Her professional focus lies in advancing inclusive and sustainable development through practical, community-centered solutions and the effective application of spatial and planning tools.
