Biography

Niyomugabo Jean Baptiste pursued his studies at the Independent University of Kigali (ULK) – Polytechnic, where he majored in Construction Technology (A1 level). He had earlier strengthened his academic foundation through studies in Civil Engineering (Water Resources Engineering), equipping him with both technical and practical skills in engineering.

Professionally, Jean Baptiste has gained experience across diverse fields. He worked as a Traffic Accountant at Astrick Company Ltd, served as an Enumerator with Uwezo, identifying and categorising people with disabilities and contributed as a Youth Advisor with Disability Inclusive Youth (DIY), advocating for inclusion and empowerment. Before joining CorpsAfrica, he played a key role in supporting disability-inclusive initiatives.

Beyond academics and professional work, Jean Baptiste is also a talented athlete. He has proudly represented Rwanda as a professional player in Sitting Volleyball on the national team, and he actively competes in Wheelchair Basketball. His sports career reflects his resilience, leadership, and dedication to representing his country at a high level.

Outside of work and sports, he enjoys listening to the radio, reading books, following social media news, and playing football.
With his background in construction technology, sports, and youth empowerment, Niyomugabo Jean Baptiste stands as a multi-talented professional, athlete, and advocate, inspiring resilience and leadership among young people in Rwanda and beyond.
