Biography
Nkunzimana Japhet earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil & Water resources Engineering from the University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology at Nyarugenge Campus. By profession, Japhet is a water resources engineer and community development volunteer who is passionate about driving positive change through education, technology, and sustainable practices.
Japhet has professional experience in the WASH sector, where he served as a Sanitation Engineer in a semi-centralized system and later worked as a Water Purifier and Water Engineer at Mwoya Water Treatment Plant. These roles strengthened his expertise in water treatment, sanitation, and sustainable resource management.
He is currently serving as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer in Rulindo District, Bushoki Sector, where he works closely with local communities to address development challenges and inspire young people to pursue education as a pathway to a brighter future. He strongly believes that a nation cannot achieve lasting development without a strong foundation in education. Guided by this conviction, he dedicates much of his time to encouraging and mentoring youth, helping them to stay in school, and equipping them with essential skills.
Beyond his professional and volunteer commitments, Japhet enjoys playing football and volleyball, activities that reflect his teamwork spirit and commitment to a healthy lifestyle. He also loves conversations with people, joking and socializing openly yet remains serious and focused when required. With a natural gift of adapting easily to any environment he enters, Japhet continues to integrate his engineering expertise, love for technology, and passion for people to contribute meaningfully to Rwanda’s development while inspiring others to reach their full potential.
