Biography

Lenson Nthakomwa is a Development Studies graduate from Mzuzu University with a strong passion for community development, youth empowerment, leadership, and sustainable development. His academic journey gave him a strong understanding of development issues and the importance of involving communities in identifying challenges and developing solutions that respond to their needs.

Lenson has gained practical experience through his participation in the Millennium Fellowship Programme where he developed his leadership, teamwork, communication, and community engagement skills. These experiences strengthened his interest in working with people and contributing to initiatives that create meaningful change. He enjoys interacting with people, learning from different perspectives, and taking part in activities that bring communities together.

Driven by his passion for community-led development, Lenson joined CorpsAfrica/Malawi Cohort 10 as a Volunteer, where he is excited to take his knowledge and experiences beyond the classroom and into the community. He looks forward to learning from community members, building meaningful relationships, identifying local strengths, and working alongside communities to support sustainable solutions to their challenges.

For Lenson, development is not about bringing ready-made solutions to communities, but about listening, learning, and working together with people to co-create solutions that they can own and sustain.
