Volunteer
Biography

Mark Pkasi is from Ortum, West Pokot County, Kenya. He is a Computer Science graduate specializing in Networking and System Administration, with CCNA Networking and CompTIA A+ training and experience in IT support, software development, data analytics, and virtual assistance. His toolkit includes Cisco Packet Tracer, Wireshark, Nmap, PuTTY/SSH, Git, Docker, AWS, Azure, and Jira. For Mark, networking is not only a technical term; it is about connecting people and exposing them to opportunities. That belief inspired Talexpo, a platform he envisions to give young hidden talents the space to be seen and to grow. He strongly believes that many young people have talents and skills that only need exposure.

As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, he is committed to the Community-Led Development (CLD) approach, believing in the power of listening and community-driven solutions to address local challenges. He is driven by Jane Goodall’s words: “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” Guided by respect for the knowledge and aspirations of the people he serves, Mark is committed to co-creating change that is owned and led by communities.
