Biography
Naima Pole is a development professional passionate about research, data, youth empowerment, and community development. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Gender and Development Studies from Kenyatta University.
Her commitment to understanding communities and creating meaningful change grew through her work with SHOFCO as a Gender Caseworker and Data Entry Intern. At the Soweto site, she led the digitization of historical case data, transitioning records from manual to digital systems using CommCare, while supporting gender-based violence case management. She further developed her research and policy skills through the African Economic Scholars Program (AESP), a research and policy training programme.
As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, Naima brings her passion for research and community development to the Community-Led Development approach. She believes meaningful change begins with listening to communities, recognizing their strengths, and supporting them to lead solutions.
Naima values empathy, integrity, curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. She is committed to learning from communities and supporting locally owned, sustainable solutions. She holds a DELF B1 French language certificate from Alliance Française de Nairobi and is a certified First Aider through St John Ambulance.
