Biography
Mubarik Sayibu is a community development practitioner with a deep commitment to youth empowerment, participatory development, and grassroots capacity building across Ghana. A licensed registered nutritionist, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Nutrition from the University for Development Studies and is completing a Master of Arts in Youth Leadership and Development at the University of Ghana.
His path to CorpsAfrica began as a Fellow with Lead For Ghana, where he taught in an underserved classroom and led STEM campaigns that increased girls’ participation in science. With ActionAid Global Platform Ghana, he trained over 500 young people in leadership and advocacy through the Providing Employment Opportunities for Young People (PEOY), Young Female Platforms (YFP), and Young Urban Women Movement projects, supporting national campaigns that advanced women’s rights and quality education.
At Abt Associates, under the USAID President’s Malaria Initiative VectorLink Project, he spearheaded community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies across 48 communities in the fight against malaria. He then joined Lively Minds Ghana as a Set-up Officer, training and coaching Ghana Education Service (GES) teachers across 30 districts in Northern Ghana to deliver play-based learning that directly benefits mothers and their children. Most recently, as a Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellow and United Nations Volunteer with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Ghana’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Unit, he supported reproductive health programming, documentation, and community advocacy.
A proud son of Tamale, Mubarik brings to CorpsAfrica an intimate knowledge of the North, the trust of its communities, and a steadfast belief that the most lasting change is built by local hands.
