Biography
Theogene SIBOMANA is a community development facilitator with a Bachelor’s degree in Rural Development and Agricultural Economics, specializing in Agribusiness from the University of Rwanda, College of Agriculture, Animal Science, and Veterinary Medicine. He brings over three years of hands-on experience working closely with rural communities, where he has successfully designed and implemented participatory, community-driven development initiatives that improve livelihoods and strengthen local resilience.
Through his service as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer Huye District and Musanze District, Theogene led impactful grassroots development initiatives using Human-Centered Design (HCD) and Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approaches. He spearheaded an organic farming program, trained farmers in liquid fertilizer production using EM Technology, and established a Hass avocado nursery project that benefited over 234 community members. He also created and facilitated youth and elder saving groups, promoting financial inclusion, self-reliance, and community ownership of development projects.
Theogene’s expertise focuses on community mobilization, project facilitation, conflict management, and participatory planning. He is highly skilled in applying HCD and ABCD approaches to ensure locally driven and sustainable solutions. He also has strong experience in climate-smart agriculture, digital extension services, and project monitoring and reporting.
Passionate about reconciliation, social cohesion, and inclusive rural transformation, Theogene is committed to empowering communities to become agents of their own development. He continues to pursue opportunities that align with his vision of fostering sustainable development and economic empowerment across Rwanda and beyond.
