Biography
Florence is a passionate development professional with experience in learning and development, community advancement, youth empowerment and information management across Southern Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Double major in Library and Information Studies and Psychology from the University of Zambia, a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management from Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) as is ETDPSETA certified Facilitator, Assessor & Moderator.
In September 2025, Florence joined Corps Africa South Africa as Training Officer where she will support the design, coordination and facilitation of volunteer training programs that promote Human Centered Design (HCD) and Asset Based Community Led Development (ABCLD) in North West and Limpopo Provinces of South Africa.
Prior to joining CorpsAfrica, Florence served as Learning & Development Specialist for Church World Service Africa (CWS) – Resettlement Support Centre (RSC) that focused on resettlement of refugees to the United States of America. She led initiatives to enhance staff capacity, leadership and performance in the South Africa office as well as Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda offices. Earlier in her career, she worked with Women for Change and British Council as Assistant Programme Officer and Programme Officer, respectively, focusing on Popular Education Methodologies (PEM) in rural communities centered on youth empowerment, sustainable development, human rights, hiv/aids, child development and protection, entrepreneurship and gender.
Florence has also provided consultancy and facilitation service to organizations such as UNICEF, Ministry of Youth, Sports & Child Development, Barclays International and International Labour Organization (ILO) under the Building Young Future Project). Additionally, She has consulted for Camfed, held roles at government ministry as Librarian and Lytellton Primary School as a Media Specialist – Librarian, supporting learning environments through information management and educational resources.
Driven by a strong commitment to sustainable development in Southern Africa, Florence continues to champion initiatives that advance gender equality, human rights, entrepreneurship and youth development for the purpose of creating long lasting and overall inclusive change in Southern Africa.
