Biography

Bertha Sitolo is a Malawian social worker with a degree in Social Work from DMI St. John the Baptist University. She has worked under the Gender and Social Welfare Department in Thyolo District, where she actively contributed to child protection, gender equality, and community empowerment initiatives. As an intern with the Victim Support Unit, Bertha supported survivors of gender-based violence by providing psychosocial support, linking them to essential services, and raising awareness on the importance of prevention and protection. These experiences strengthened her commitment to advocating for vulnerable groups and promoting inclusive development.

With a strong passion for social change, Bertha joined CorpsAfrica to apply her expertise in gender and social welfare while working hand-in-hand with rural communities. She is dedicated to facilitating locally driven solutions that empower individuals, build resilience, and foster sustainable, community-led development.
