Biography
Bakary Susso is a dedicated young development practitioner with strong passion for community-driven development. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies from the University of the Gambia from which he graduated in July, 2025. His commitment to promoting grassroots development is driven by his desire to improve lives and livelihoods of people through sustainable initiatives.
Bakary is focused, reliable, goal-oriented and self-motivated someone who constantly seeks knowledge and skills to enhance his personal and professional growth.
During his undergraduate studies, he participated in various leadership and capacity building training programs both at national and international levels. These includes, TAF Academy One-year Leaderships Training program, Digital Literacy Training Program, Project Management Certificate with Google Coursera, Virtual Summer Course (VSC) on E-Commerce with University of Brawijiya, Indonesia. These experiences have equipped him with requisite skills and broadened his developmental perspectives.
Additionally, bakary further undertook Peace and Conflict Resolution Training, Africa Continental Free Trade Area Training (ACFTA) through Africa Youth-Led organization. He also gained practical experiences through voluntary teaching at Passamas Basic Cycle School prior to his service with CorpsAfrica/Gambia.
He is an active youth leader in his district where he co-facilitates youth’s development initiatives particularly in climate related matters and youth’s empowerment. He amplifies the voice of the youths in decision making and actively advocate for youths’ inclusivity.
Bakary is currently serving as a CorpsAfrica/Gambia G3 Volunteer who has dedicated One-year of his lifetime to serving, learning and unlearning with the aim of creating lasting impact in the rural communities.
