Biography
Ashlin Thaba is a law graduate with a Diploma in Paralegal Studies and a BCom Law degree. She is passionate about using law as a tool for access and justice.
She discovered her commitment to community service while volunteering at Thaba Jabula Secondary School through the UJ ZCC Student Fellowship, where she helped Grade 12 learners navigate university and bursary applications. She saw how a lack of information and guidance can block opportunities for capable young people.
She decided to join CorpsAfrica because she believes real change starts when you live, listen, and serve alongside a community, not above it.
She was drawn to CorpsAfrica’s model of living in a rural community and co-creating sustainable, community-led projects. For her, it is an opportunity to use her legal training beyond textbooks to help people understand their rights, participate in development, and build solutions they truly own.
She is committed to humble service, ethical leadership, and building lasting change with communities.
