Biography

Laston Tikita holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Textile Engineering from the Malawi University of Science and Technology. He is passionate about innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, skills development, and finding practical solutions to community challenges.

Laston has experience in the textile industry, sales and customer service, entrepreneurship, and ICT. These experiences have strengthened his problem-solving, communication, and adaptability skills while developing his interest in creating opportunities for young people and contributing to Malawi’s development.

As a CorpsAfrica/Malawi Cohort 10 Volunteer, Laston is excited to work alongside a rural community, listen to its members, learn from their experiences, and support community-led solutions. He looks forward to building meaningful relationships, strengthening his leadership and facilitation skills, and growing both personally and professionally through service.

Laston enjoys learning about new technologies, exploring entrepreneurship, and developing ideas that can create opportunities and promote value addition in Malawi.
