Biography
Ascar Walgwe is a Development Studies graduate from Mount Kenya University with a strong passion for Community Development, Women Empowerment, and promoting positive Social Justice. Her journey in the development field has allowed her to work in programs focused on empowering women, supporting young people, and contributing to initiatives that address social challenges within communities.
Her interest in Community Development is rooted in her belief that when people have the opportunity to participate, access resources and make decisions that affect their lives, they can become powerful drivers of change within their communities.She is currently a Volunteer at CorpsAfrica/Kenya where she has been trained in Asset Based Community-Led Development (ABCD ) and Human Centered Design ( HCD ). This experience has helped her develop a deep appreciation for the importance of creating spaces where women and communities can be heard, recognized for their strengths, and supported to pursue opportunities that improve their lives. She is committed to learning about meaningful community engagements and contributing to initiatives that create opportunities and promote positive social change.
