Biography

Wahome Joyce Wambui is an impact-driven community development professional with experience in grassroots engagement, psychosocial support, and capacity building. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development from The Co-operative University of Kenya, which provided a solid foundation for her work in advancing sustainable community transformation.

She has developed strong competencies in project management, facilitation, research, data collection, and monitoring and evaluation. Driven by her empathy, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities, she excels in building trust, leading participatory group sessions, and translating community priorities into practical, lasting solutions.

Currently serving as a CorpsAfrica/Kenya Volunteer, Joyce works hand-in-hand with communities to identify their priorities and co-create solutions using Community-Led Development, Asset-Based Community Development, and Human-Centered Design. Her approach emphasizes participation, dignity, and resilience, ensuring that projects are sustainable and community owned.

Guided by the belief that true development begins with people, she is committed to nurturing spaces where communities thrive, voices are valued, and transformation is driven from within.
